Description
Calmivet Acepromazine (maleate) is a phenothiazine derivative.
Phenothiazines have a depressive effect on the central nervous system, inducing muscle relaxation, indifference to the environment, and a reduction in concern, anxiousness, and defense responses in the animal.
Part of this effect is due to an antagonistic effect on dopaminergic receptors.
The sedative effects persist between 4 and 8 hours.
